Update this month (April 2026)

· By Ryan Hayden

You may have noticed updates slowing down a bit over the past few weeks — here's why, and what's still been shipping.

My day job at Rural King has been unusually demanding lately. Several projects that have been in development for years are finally launching, and they've required a significant chunk of my time and focus. On top of that, I spent nearly three straight months building Congregation Hub at a relentless pace and simply needed to come up for air. Sustainable progress matters more than burnout.

That said, development hasn't stopped. Here's what's been added recently.

Translations

Congregation Hub is now available in eight languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Tagalog, French, German, Xhosa, Swahili, and Zulu. If your country uses a Latin alphabet, there's a good chance you can use the app in your language.

This has been a goal from the beginning. Congregation Hub isn't built for aspiring megachurches in the United States — it's built for the global church, including mission churches in places where free, reliable tools are hard to come by. These translations work across both the mobile app and the web app. The one exception is content like these blog posts and image-based graphics, which will remain in English for now.

Member Profile Updates

Church members can now update their own profiles directly in the app. As more people at my own church started using Congregation Hub, I heard the same complaint more than once: some of their information was wrong, and there was no easy way to fix it. Now every user — not just admins — can update their own details without having to track someone down.

Adding Visitors in Attendance

Several people have requested the ability to add visitors when taking attendance — including board member Adam McCaslin — and it's now in the app.

When you mark attendance, you can now log visitors on the spot. You'll be prompted to add a note describing them, and the app will remind you to follow up by adding them as people rather than repeatedly counting them as visitors. It's a small touch, but it keeps your records cleaner and nudges you toward the kind of intentional follow-up that turns first-time guests into members.

Scheduled Posts

This one came from board member Estevan Montoya, and it's a great idea. You can now schedule prayer requests and announcements to go out as text messages at a specific date and time. This update will roll out with the next iOS and Android release.

Coming Soon: Push Notifications

Most of the groundwork for push notifications is done — just a bit more work to go. This is one of the most important features on the roadmap, because it will allow churches to significantly reduce what they spend on SMS fees. More on this soon.
