Introducing Our New CEO
I’m proud to introduce the new CEO of Congregation Hub: my wife of nearly 21 years, Amanda Hayden. In this case, CEO stands for Chief Engagement Officer.
There are two essential sides to running Congregation Hub. The technical side—designing and building the software—and the people side—making sure churches actually get set up, supported, and thriving. I’m pretty solid on the technical side. The people side? I simply don’t have the margin in my schedule to do it well.
Moving forward, Amanda (and one day the people she leads) will own user engagement. That means:
- When a new church signs up, she’ll meet with the admins, help them get everything configured, and walk their people through onboarding.
- When a church has a problem or a feature request, she’ll be the first person they talk to and will own getting it resolved.
- When a church wants a custom website, she’ll handle most of the conversation, gather what we need, and get them set up.
Amanda is uniquely suited for this. She’s been my constant companion since I could barely shave, and for the last 15 years she’s lived the life of a pastor’s wife. That means she’s already done just about every job in a church except preach:
- Church secretary
- Media person
- Nursery / Awana / Sunday School coordinator
- Counselor
- And a hundred other things that never show up on a job description
She’s not a developer, but she’s very good with computers—and if she ever needs help, she knows exactly where I live.
I’m excited for churches to get to know her. She’s the reason a lot of the “people” side of Congregation Hub is finally going to get the attention it deserves.
